PHYS-FEST 4
Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge -- 2023
La Joya, New Mexico
PhysFest 4 was hosted at the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. The Sevilleta is a vast 230,000 acre sanctuary where four distinct biomes (Chihuahuan Desert, Colorado Plateau Shrub Steppe, Great Plains Prairie, Pinyon-Juniper woodland) converge, creating incredible biodiversity. The Sevilleta is also a key research site for the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) network. At PF4, we focused on learning key ecophysiological methods and applying them to understanding desert ecosystems. For more information about the Sevilleta and the surrounding area, visit their webpage.
